Vidient Systems Named to Red Herring's List of Top 100 Global High Tech Companies

Video-Based Perimeter Security Solutions Leader Earns its Place Among the World's Finest Privately Held High-Tech Companies

Winners were announced at the Red Herring 100 Global conference held in San Diego from January 14-16, 2009. Finalists included executives and venture capital leaders from around the world.

A panel of Red Herring editors and reporters, veterans of the high-tech industry, began the selection process with a pool of 1,800 successful and qualified entrants, including previous award winners and finalists from the past three years.

Red Herring's staff put all 1,800 candidates under the microscope, carefully researching and analyzing each company's business processes and technical advantages, then measuring how closely these variables match Red Herring's own proven standards of excellence. These standards combine a set of best practices with established benchmarks developed, field-tested, revised and proven over the years, and now accepted as valid by the international high tech community.

Further evaluation of both quantitative and qualitative criteria – including financial performance, innovation, management, global strategy and ecosystem integration – enabled Red Herring's team to select the 200 finalists. After a final round of assessment and analysis, Red Herring's selection team chose this year's award winners and newest members of the list of Top 100 Global High Tech Companies.

Vidient Systems, new to Red Herring's Top 100 list, joins previous winners such as Google, Yahoo!, Skype, Netscape, Salesforce.com and YouTube.
