  • Frank Pao

    President and Chief Executive Officer

    Frank Pao brings to Vidient over a decade of executive management experience, successfully building and leading both venture-funded and public companies. Most recently, Frank was President and Chief Operating Officer of Verity, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise search software. He has also served as Chief Operating Officer of Autonomy, Inc., the worldwide leader in enterprise software to manage unstructured information, and Senior Vice President of Business Affairs at Virage, Inc., a video management enterprise software company. At Autonomy, he helped grow the company to a multibillion-dollar market capitalization, and he helped lead Virage from an early-stage start-up to a successful public offering and subsequent acquisition. He has counseled numerous high technology clients while a lawyer at Gray Cary, and held various engineering positions at Advanced Cardiovascular Systems and Lawrence Berkeley Laboratories.

    Frank earned a J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law and a B.S. in Bioengineering from University of California, Berkeley where he was a member of Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society.

  • Brooks McChesney

    Founder and Chief Client Executive

    Brooks McChesney brings to Vidient over 25 years of hands-on executive management experience. He has successfully led numerous technology companies from early stage development to sustained growth. Most recently, Brooks was president of Smartware, a provider of strategic management services whose clients include Onset Ventures, NEC, Callidus Software, Intresys, and Open Minded Solutions. Prior to that, Brooks held senior executive positions at Bizfinity, IVN Communications, and Businessland. As an entrepreneur-in-residence at NEC, Brooks was responsible for evaluating promising technologies in their patent portfolio. In this role at NEC, Brooks discovered and nurtured the first implementation of the Vidient technology. He then led the effort to develop the technology into a commercially viable business. Brooks holds twin bachelors degrees from Stanford University and a J D degree from Cornell Law School. He serves on the Board of Directors of the San Jose Software Business Cluster and the Advisory Board of Callidus Software and has been a featured speaker at numerous industry events and conferences.

  • Steven Dauber

    VP, Marketing

    Steven Dauber brings an extensive background in technology marketing and start-up leadership to Vidient. Steven was previously VP of Marketing at Ensim, Inc. and CenterBeam, Inc., start-up companies focused on the market for software-as-a-service and outsourced services for desktops, networks and servers, respectively. He was VP of Sales and Marketing at Loran Technologies, a start-up that developed appliances for managing network configurations then acquired by Peregrine Systems. Early in his career, Steven spent eight years in engineering and marketing roles at Novell. Steven has a MSEE from Stanford, as well as dual undergraduate degrees in Economics and Electrical Engineering.

  • Jon Cook

    VP, Engineering

    Jon brings over 11 years of architectural design and application experience to his role as Vice President of Engineering. Before Vidient, Jon was the Chief Architect at Knowmadic where he was responsible for the technical direction, architecture, and design of the Knowmadic product line. Prior to Knowmadic, Jon was Chief Architect at General Magic. Jon holds three patents for his innovative technology developments. He received his BS in physics with modern computing at the University of Surrey in Guildford, England.

  • Wei Hua

    Principal Video Scientist

    As Principal Video Scientist at Vidient, Wei Hua adds concentrated expertise in the area of machine vision, image registration, visual tracking, multiple camera calibration, and 3D reconstruction. Before joining Vidient, Wei worked at NEC Labs where he conceived and developed innovative technology for video summarization and surveillance. That technology is at the core of Vidient's innovative surveillance products. Before NEC, Wei was a research engineer at Carnegie Mellon University and a consultant for Zaxel Systems Inc. Wei Hua received his master's degree in computer science from Tsinghua University in 1994 and a Masters degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1996. He has written numerous journal and conference papers on video analysis, visual tracking, object detection and image processing.

  • Guy Morgante

    VP, Services

    Guy Morgante has been involved with Services organizations at high tech companies like Provato Software, Informix, Oracle Corporation and SAIC Commsystems for over 25 years. Most recently Guy was VP of Global Services Business Management at Aspect Communications. In this role, he was responsible for significantly improving customer satisfaction and overall service profitability. Guy has a deep knowledge of service systems and best practices having developed implementation methodologies, consulting and education packages, support infrastructure and service sales strategies.
