  • Sergio Magistri

    Chairman, Former CEO InVision Technologies

    Dr. Sergio Magistri was most recently President and CEO of InVision Technologies the leading provider in the multi-billion dollar global market for explosive detection systems (EDS) in aviation security. Dr Magistri joined InVision as President and CEO in 1992. He led the company for twelve years from an initial staff of 20 researchers to over 1,000 employees designing, manufacturing, marketing and supporting sales of EDS systems worldwide. InVision received FAA-certification for their CTX 500 product in 1994, the first company to receive it for EDS products. InVision went public in 1996 and in March 2004 the company entered into a merger agreement with General Electric pursuant to which it would be acquired for approximately $900 million net. Prior to joining InVision, Dr. Magistri worked for AGIE Switzerland, a manufacturer of high precision tooling equipment. Dr. Magistri received his diploma in Electrical Engineering in 1977 and a doctorate in Biomedical Engineering in 1982 both from the Swiss Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland.

  • Frank Pao

    President and Chief Executive Officer

    Frank Pao brings to Vidient over a decade of executive management experience, successfully building and leading both venture-funded and public companies. Most recently, Frank was President and Chief Operating Officer of Verity, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise search software. He has also served as Chief Operating Officer of Autonomy, Inc., the worldwide leader in enterprise software to manage unstructured information, and Senior Vice President of Business Affairs at Virage, Inc., a video management enterprise software company. At Autonomy, he helped grow the company to a multibillion-dollar market capitalization, and he helped lead Virage from an early-stage start-up to a successful public offering and subsequent acquisition. He has counseled numerous high technology clients while a lawyer at Gray Cary, and held various engineering positions at Advanced Cardiovascular Systems and Lawrence Berkeley Laboratories.

    Frank earned a J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law and a B.S. in Bioengineering from University of California, Berkeley where he was a member of Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society.

  • George Hoyem

    Blueprint Ventures

    George Hoyem is a Managing Partner with BluePrint Ventures. He brings over 20 years of entrepreneurial, operations, and venture experience in high technology companies. Prior to joining Blueprint George was co-founder and Managing Partner of Redleaf Group, a $230 million venture investment group. His 18 year operating career included positions with Hewlett Packard, Verifone, Visix Software and Tektronix. He currently serves on the boards of Astoria Software, Atreus Systems, Platform Solutions and SpectraSensors.

  • Peter Meekin

    Trident Capital

    Peter Meekin is a Managing Director of Trident Capital. He has more than 20 years of experience in software, information services, and technology consulting. Prior to joining Trident Capital, he was Vice President of Venture Development at Enterprise Associates, LLC, the venture capital division of IMS Health. Peter has direct experience with early stage companies having launched three start-ups in the software and consulting industries, as well as having held senior roles at Dun & Bradstreet, Lotus Development Corporation, and IBM.

  • Masaru Sakamoto

    Vice President, Corporate Planning and Marketing, NEC Corporation of America

    Masaru Sakamoto has held various executive positions in sales, marketing, corporate planning and business development since joining NEC Corporation in 1983. As one of the founding members of NEC USA's Corporate Strategy and Business Development Division in 1997, Mas helped expand NEC's venture investment operations in Silicon Valley and also pioneered the NEC Entrepreneur-in-Residence Initiative, an innovative technology commercialization program to monetize the largest corporate patent portfolio in the world. Mas has been a guest lecturer on international business and IP commercialization at New York University's Stern School of Business and the University of California at Berkeley.
